Zach Sobiech, who fought bone cancer since he was diagnosed with osteosarcoma at 14-years-old, was told by doctors in June that he had less than a year to live. Zach wrote, recorded and released “Clouds,” a song about facing death, on YouTube in December, and it’s been viewed at least three million times since its release.
The song is just awesome. It's his way of saying "goodbye". Check it out:
His inspirational story and natural talent for songwriting attracted the attention of many, including actors Bryan Cranston and Rachel Bilson, among others - and Jason Mraz as well. Other celebs and musicians making an appearance in the video are Phillip Phillips, Jazon Derulo, and more...
My wife works with Jazon Mraz's record label and had the opportunity to introduce Zach to Jason Mraz last year long before Zach passed away.
Jazon Mraz banded together a bunch of folks who you might recognize in this video, and they made a tribute to Zach's song. Check that out below:
Rest in peace, Zach. Your spirit lives on through your music. Know that you touched so many with your courage, talent, and charisma.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family and many, MANY friends.
